We are a friendly community of people who love Jesus Christ and delight in His service.  Spiritually, and most importantly, we are people whose lives have been transformed by the truth and grace of God. While we are far from perfect people, we seek to help each other live according to the truth that God has given us in His Word. Our greatest desire and ultimate purpose is to bring glory to God.  We are committed to the truth of God’s Word and the insatiable hope it brings to those who seek it.

We Believe

We highly value the Bible, and it is our belief that God has inspired and preserved this book for our benefit and for the dissemination of the Christian faith. We believe the Bible conveys one cohesive story of the redemptive work of God, culminating in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  This is the gospel or “good news” by which God is reconciling all things to Himself for His glory and for our good. We believe that the gospel is central both for this world and for the world to come.

We exist to spread a passionate desire for the gospel of grace to all people, for all aspects of life.

Our Ten-Fold Vision is ...
To strive for excellence in all endeavors;
To be a church where all are welcomed;
To establish people in the truth of the Bible, thus producing disciples of Jesus Christ;
To have knowledgeable and compassionate pastoral staff who can and do help people;
To encourage participation by all members in ministry (meeting the needs of others in Jesus' Name);
To present the "good news" of God's salvation, offered through the Lord Jesus Christ frequently, if not weekly;
To encourage the development of small groups, where people may experience real friendship and personal growth;
To have a world mindset; a desire to minister beyond the walls of the church to others;
To develop the acreage and facilities for community and spiritual ministry;
To glorify God in all that we do.

I came to The Chapel in 2021 and brought along with me my wife, Kelsey, and three amazing kids. I graduated from Geneva College in 2010 with a degree in student ministries and then from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2017 with a Master of Divinity. I like watching sports, reading, hunting, camping, any water activities, and eating chicken wings. I love spending time with my family and serving Christ!

I am the founding pastor of The Chapel in Marlboro. I did my masters work at Heritage Baptist University and hold a Doctor of Ministry from Bethany Theological Seminary.  My wife, Serena, and I have three adult children and two grandchildren.  I enjoy sports and relaxing by taking walks on wooded trails.

Matt Hunsaker

Pastor of Creative Arts

I grew up in Medina in a Christian homeschool family with two amazing parents and one brother. My parents instilled a love of the arts in me from childhood. I’ve been leading worship since middle school and have been blessed to be in full-time ministry at The Chapel in Marlboro since 2013.

I’m blessed with an incredibly talented and beautiful wife, Angela, and have four awesome kids (and 1 crazy dog).  I enjoy all things musical, woodworking, playing basketball and board games, and am an avid sports fan.

I earned my Bachelor of Music in percussion performance at Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music and my Master of Music in percussion performance from the University of Akron.

Todd Hostetler

Pastor of Children’s Ministries & Sports

I love spending time outdoors with my wife, Jennifer, and my sons, Brooks and Brady.  I am active in my local community and enjoy working with the varsity football program and coaching youth sports. When I’m not coaching, I enjoy reading historical biographies and my Bible.  The verse that most impacts my life is Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Josiah Kaiser

Pastor of High School Ministries

Josiah@Marlboro-chapel.com

I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. I grew up in a homeschool family and am the oldest of 5 brothers and 1 sister. I have been very active in sports my whole life and have had the opportunity to play semi pro football and had a baseball tryout with the Cincinnati Reds. I love the energy and passion of senior high students and want to see that passion and energy being used to serve Christ. Worship Ministry has also had a big impact on my life. I’ve been blessed to help lead worship from drum set since high school, and I hope to instill this desire to worship Jesus to all of our students at The Chapel. My wonderful wife, Morgan, graduated from Grace College in Indiana with a degree in Sports ministry.

Josiah and Morgan currently live in Alliance Ohio with their 4 dogs - Kleio, Mira, Apollo and Sebastian.

Daniel Fahl

Pastor of Middle School Ministries

My wife and I became members of the Chapel In Marlboro in early 2021. I graduated with a BSW in social work from the University of Akron and worked in the human service field for about seven years. People matter to God. I am currently pursuing my masters of divinity degree online through Moody Bible Institute. Over the years, I have taught various Sunday school classes for kids, adults and adults with disabilities. It is now our privilege to be on staff working with the middle school at the Chapel. I have been married to my wife Abby since 2011. We have two children. I enjoy playing guitar, singing, playing outside with my family, playing tennis, running and fishing.

Linda Balzer

Church Administrator

Office@Marlboro-chapel.com

After having our children, Lucas and Audra, my husband, Keith, and I were invited to attend The Chapel In Marlboro by his parents. We have met many great friends here and just became a part of the church family.

I hold a degree in Legal/Executive Secretarial studies. I’ve worked in various ministries over the years and after cleaning the church attic was hired as Administrative Assistant!  I’ve served in that role for over 14 years.

We are a truck driving family and love to hill climb on the sand dunes in Michigan. I love to knit, crochet, cross stitch and garden and do anything crafty.

My favorite verse is Ecclesiastes 3:1 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.”  I have seen a lot of change in the world, but God has always been there for me the same throughout every joy and trial.

Jennifer Galehouse

Administrative Assistant

I was originally raised in Cuyahoga Falls but in 1988 my parents built a house and a small beef farm in Randolph and moved my three brothers and I out to the country. I love it out here.

My husband John and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and are the proud parents of three amazing kids, John Jr., Aidan, and Presley. We also currently have two dogs, Pluto and Cooper. We moved our family to what I consider my hometown, Randolph,  in 2016.

I worked full time in Accounts Payable at Jo-Ann Fabrics for 15 years before leaving in 2011 to become a stay at home mom.  In 2022, I was welcomed into a part time office position here at the Chapel In Marlboro. I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone and am blessed to be considered a part of the Chapel family.

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, camping, kayaking, country line dancing, and watching football.

Deacon & Trustees

Our deacons are a group of men and their wives who practically and consistently extend the love of Christ to people of our church in various ways. They look after the well-being of the congregation by ministering to and aiding those who are in need.  Our trustees are a group of men elected every year who oversee the financial decisions of the church.
